PSP: Prodigal Student’s Props

In my more than 5 years in college, these two objects were used to be my study buddies, with their help, learning was become less boring, and more interesting. –and I was just joking with that statement. Lol.

These two objects, the pen and notebook was nothing but a mere props, they doesn’t really served their true purpose, and why is that? It simply because I didn’t allowed them.

These stuffs are supposed to be use on taking down notes, with regards to the lessons I’m studying, but they are not what they are.

In my last 4semesters(2 school year), I’m just bringing those props to make myself appear like a real student, yes a student that is studying well.

Unfortunately that’s not me, it’s maybe right to say that I was a lost white sheep back then on my school days, but fortunately I’m not alone, some of  my professors deserves the title “Lost Shepherds”  which doesn’t fits well to their executive looking attire.

We maybe all fell on the wrong places, or perhaps the places blindly catched us when were falling, and staying as a lost was a good option, but the best choice is to find our way, way back home? Lol.

Ok, going back to my props, that green faithful notebook of mine, offered me 90 leaves, but after 2years, I was only able to waste 14 pages, why? It’s just I don’t feel comfortable drawing some stupid looking curves(my handwriting) on that clean and green but white pages of my notebook.

And because the rain has already stopped,  I can now stop writing too, I can go out now. Yahoo!!! Killing time is over, I’ve overly killed it already. Hahahaha

My Playful Mp3 Player

Play… pause… Play… pause… Play… Ooops! –that’s not how I play my Mp3 player, and that’s not how my MP3 player play my favorite mp3s. it play my favorite mp3s the way it should be, play the song when I press the Play button, pause when I push the pause button and shut off when I turned it off. That’s my Sony Mp3 player.

It was again just given to me, gift or present in other word. It works just fine, not until I’ve observed that it’s now showing some abnormality, I’ve observed that when playing a music or any audio files like audiobooks and other audios in mp3 format, it’s louder when I’m touching the audio jack—hehe I’m not sure if it’s the right term, I’m referring to the end portion of the headphone, the thing you plug in you mp3 player’s output port. When I’m touching that or perhaps holding while I’m playing music, the volume boosts louder than it used to be, and after a week I suddenly can’t hear any sound from the headphone even if the music was already playing, at first I thought that the problem was on my headphone, so I used and tried other headphone that surely not defective, and the result was still the same. So, it was clear now that the problem was on the mp3 player itself.

Due to boredom and a little curiosity, I did not wait for second opinion from a known expert, I’ve check out the mp3 player by opening those portion that can be opened by using just my bare hands, and I found out that a screwdriver with a small tip was necessary, fortunately I have something like that somewhere on our cabinet, it took me more that 10minutes and I found it. It’s dissecting time!

So I drove the screws out or perhaps the bolts? –hehe, and carefully checked out the wirings, the LCD display, the small chips with, the chip with capacitors , insulators, and conductor? –haha I’m not sure if those were those, and if those were present there, it’s just seems to me that it looks like those.

After a few minutes of careful analysis or perhaps observation of what might be the problem is, I’ve seen that somewhere near the port where earphone is plug, there was a broken solded lead, and my intuition told me that it was the problem, and fortunately I have a soldering iron, I bought it when I was in high school, for what purpose? Uhmm I just want it, it looks cool –hehe. But unluckily I don’t have a soldering lead and honestly I don’t know how to use it –haha. So I just took my mp3 player to cellphone repair shop, I asked the technician if he could fix it, I told him the problem, and he started to open my mp3 player and in not more than 10minutes it was fixed. I only paid 20 pesos for that.

Bandage for my Aged Cellphone

Bandage for my aged cellphone –maybe this title will suggest to your imagination that you should be seeing inside your head an old cellphone wrapped with scotch tape, masking tape, or worst electrical tape.
Well, that’s not the case, and I’m not going to mummify it to preserve its physical form either. What I’m about to do or perhaps what I did was, I just covered it’s wound, wound? Hehe ok here’s the story, my cellphone is a Nokia 3110c, an old model and an old one, it was just a gift to me from my sister, and it’s 3 or 4years old now—oops does it confused you? I’m referring on my cellphone.

Just recently(as of this writing), due to old age(not my negligence) my cellphone’s usb connector cover, was removed, it just suddenly fell down(fell up?)—haha.  It wasn’t really a surprise, I was really expecting this phone to show me some signs of aging, and as a matter of fact, it already does, as you can see on the picture, the characters on it’s keypad was already erased, but it’s my doings because some characters were peeled off already, that’s why I’ve erased them all to make it look even.

There was also more that 4000sms on my sent items, which I can’t erase because it was hidden and the bad news was, it consumes my phone’s internal memory free disk space, that’s why now I can’t same more than 100sms on my inbox, I have to mass delete sms more frequently—how troublesome!
And now its new deficiency is this lacking of usb connector cover, what’s the big deal with this? Well, yes I can still send sms without that cover, but what I’m worried about was when small particles or objects(bacteria?)—haha, will plug-in on my usb connector’s port, the result is it will be damaged, and won’t anymore be able to use it when connecting my phone to pc for transferring of files.

Thanks God, that these thick rubber bands were made, I’ve got an idea why not use it to covers my phone’s usb connector’s port, and it will serve as a decoration as well. It does perfectly fit on my phone, I’ve used to use it that way before, but I’ve removed it because it’s hard to answer someone’s call or to talk to someone over the phone, nhy? Because this thick rubber band if used that way, will cover the phone’s voice or sound  receiver—haha not sure with this term, it’s located near the usb connector’s port,  I have to remove the rubber band first before I can talk, and it’s not easy since it’s tight, otherwise you won’t be heard on the another end..

So, that’s it! I’ve used it again, it looks nice somehow and more importantly it covers the open wound of my aged cellular phone.

Sacrificial Pages

At the age of 7, I learned how to play chess, My late father taught me how, but never told me why. Why should I play this game? Maybe for fun or leisure and bonding, For killing time, To keep me away from vices, and to improve my thinking skill(which I’m not good at it until now haha), those were all good reasons why I should learn to play this game, it’s a sport after all.

It’s not all there is to it, I have learned on chess game that to win the game, sometimes I must make some sacrifice, it’s true even in real life. Sometimes we can’t have something we wanted without giving something in return, we pay the price, that is.

Now I was called by myself for sacrifice, it’s been already 6yrs since I graduated in highschool. Luckily, I found my long lost classmates and friends together with their signature faces on facebook. One of them added me to be on her friends list and the others as well, I did the same to some who’s still not on my friends list.

After the hi’s/hello’s, “how are you?”, “how do you do?” etc… they have decided that we’ll be going to have our class reunion by December—when holiday is everyday(not literally).

The SMS’s keeps on flying back and forth, there were no central place for inquirers and inquiries, for questions and answers, for the organizers and participants. I decided to volunteer myself on building a website for our 4thyr class section, so that all informations that is necessary for everyone will be posted there, and that’s when my sacrifice started, aside from the time and effort, I have torn some pages on my yearbook because my scanner can’t scan it clearly without having it detached. I’ll be using those images for our website, but it’s alright it was just torn, not burned so I can still see their/our faces, our nostalgic faces.
